Job summary:
The Software Test Engineer is responsible for validating the quality and reliability of firmware and SDK through software testing, issue analysis, and quality assurance activities. The role works closely with embedded teams to ensure product stability, performance, and compatibility before release. This position is located in Taipei, Taiwan.
Essential Functions:
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test plans and scalable automated test cases for functional, regression, integration, performance, load and stress testing.
- Develop reusable utilities and scripts to streamline testing, increase efficiency, and reduce human error.
- Design, develop, and maintain test frameworks for firmware and SDK validation.
- Collaborate with the embedded team, project managers and QA team to refine test coverage and identify critical quality gaps.
- Investigate, reproduce, and troubleshoot firmware and SDK issues, and analyze results to produce detailed QA reports.
- Contribute to process improvements, test strategy refinement, and release readiness assessments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in software QA, firmware testing, or embedded systems validation.
- Hands-on experience with Linux test environments.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages for test automation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions, Jenkins etc..
- Experience with SDK testing, API validation, or cross-platform software integration.
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools (Jira) and version control systems (Git).
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to QA process improvements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
