Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design and operate a virtualization platform (from single host to small clusters).
- Architect and tune VM networking and isolation.
- Plan storage and resilience.
- Automate operations using Infrastructure-as-Code practices; integrate with APIs, CI/CD pipelines, identity systems, RBAC, and audit/security policies.
- Implement monitoring and operations: performance metrics, centralized logging, upgrades, patching, service levels, and maintenance windows.
- Collaborate with Lab/R&D teams for onboarding, incident response, change management, and ongoing service improvements.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in CS/EE or equivalent experience; strong C/C++ and hands-on work with virtualization/emulation.
- 4+ years of experience in virtualization/platform engineering or SRE, with production background in managing virtualized environments.
- Strong Linux administration (service management, networking, storage snapshots/replication).
- Solid understanding of core networking (L2/L3, VLAN, routing, DNS/DHCP) and packet/connection troubleshooting.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and proficiency in Python/Bash scripting.
- Skilled in performance tuning and security hardening: optimize CPU/memory/I/O and scalability; implement TLS/certificates, auditing, and identity & access management (SSO, RBAC).
- Experience with distributed storage and backup architecture.
- Familiarity with deploying network OS or test environments.
- Background in building internal portals or API integrations.
