Description and Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day supply management for assigned suppliers, maintaining sustainable supply for server and rack production while managing material availability, capacity, and supplier operational issues.
- Manage dynamic demand and supply requirements, monitoring PPN demand quantities, buffers, schedule changes, and other inputs to maintain accurate end-to-end supply visibility.
- Maintain high data accuracy and provide reliable supply commits, ensuring purchasing data supports factory production planning and downstream delivery commitments.
- Coordinate purchasing execution with GSM and buyer/procurement teams, including PO placement, supplier commitments, supply schedules, logistics, and related operational requirements.
- Evaluate material requirements and determine appropriate purchasing actions, distinguishing unique or new PN requirements from common parts already in mass production.
- Troubleshoot supply constraints with suppliers and GSM, coordinating with engineering, quality, cost, logistics, and other internal stakeholders to resolve gating issues.
- Manage inventory risks and changes, including excess or aging inventory arising from demand reductions, engineering changes, cancellations, or other demand fluctuations.
- Support supply readiness and continuity, establishing cross-functional checkpoints where needed for system PN, engineering, cost, and material readiness while keeping stakeholders informed of supply status.
Skills & Experience
Must-have
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply management, materials management, or a closely related supply-chain function.
- Strong numerical and analytical capability with a high level of data accuracy and attention to detail. Accurate purchasing data is critical because factories use this information for production planning.
- Ability to manage daily operational priorities in an environment with significant purchasing volume and changing demand or supply conditions.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to progressively handle supply issues independently.
- Effective stakeholder and supplier communication skills, including the ability to work across procurement, Order Execution, Customer Fulfillment, factories, and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in Mandarin and working proficiency in English, reflecting regular communication with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and Lenovo's worldwide factory network.
- Demonstrated learning agility and openness to working collaboratively in a global, cross-functional environment.
Good-to-have
- Experience supporting server, rack, electronics, PCBA, motherboard, switch board, or related hardware supply chains. The intake discussion identifies PCBA/board-related supply as relevant to the supplier scope.
- Experience managing suppliers or supply commitments in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with mass-production supply processes and material or inventory risk management.
