Job Description

Role Purpose

As the Senior Controls System Engineer, you will lead high-impact initiatives that shape factory performance across Asia-designing robust control architectures, steering PCS strategy, and delivering mission-critical solutions from technology transfer to highvolume ramp. You'll own the reliability of melting control systems and major lifecycle events (rebuilds/startups), while building team capabilities through structured training and hands-on projects. Partnering with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors, you'll integrate new control technologies and selectively apply AI to improve quality, yield, and efficiency. This is a role where your technical leadership directly accelerates operational excellence, cost optimization, and scalable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical teams and projects to design, develop, and deploy advanced process control systems (hardware and software) supporting technology transfer, process improvement, cost reduction, and capacity expansion.
  • Define and implement Process Control Systems(PCS) strategy in collaboration with technical leaders to align with corporate priorities and regional growth objectives.
  • Design and maintain control system architecture, including PLC logic, SCADA/DCS platforms, data interfaces, and factory automation for process equipment and prototyping.
  • Drive competency development by initiating control solution projects and establishing structured training programs, coaching, and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Ensure effective deployment of best practices for manufacturing control systems and maintain compliance with documented standards and change management.
  • Manage daily operations and troubleshooting of melting control systems coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure stable performance and uptime.
  • Lead major lifecycle projects, including melting tank rebuild and startup readiness, ensuring cross-functional coordination and risk management.
  • Evaluate and integrate new control technologies transferred from division engineering, completing validation and deployment to improve line performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors for technical engagement, capability evaluation, and project execution across Asia.
  • Explore and pilot advanced solutions, including AI-based applications, to enhance quality, yield, throughput, and operational efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Automation Control, Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years experience leading highly technical, multi-discipline and multi-cultural engineering teams
  • Must have hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas of control system hardware and software:
    • Logic and sequencing control using PLC (Mitsubishi, Siemens or Allen Bradley)
    • PC-Level programming languages (VB, C/C++, C#)
    • Industrial SCADA and DCS (e.g. GE iFiX, LabView).
    • Fundamental understanding of feedback control such as PID, motion controls and other advanced control algorithm and methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior engineering experience with technical/project leadership responsibility for the design, development, and deployment of control system solutions for manufacturing environment.
  • Candidate with the following soft skills:
