Role description
Summary-Looking for Thermal Design Engineer with a min of 6 yrs of experience in computer system thermal design, fan control & acoustics. Your expertise will help us bring cutting-edge technologies, architecture, ahigh-performance computing systems to market. Thermal design will be instrumental in maximizing performance, minimizing acoustics & ensuring world-class reliability. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing & optimizing thermal management solutions for commercial applications & working with a global design team to understand the product specification, developing project level of thermal solutions on commercial products over multiple projects, and manufacturing to deliver efficient, cost-effective thermal systems tailored to client needs
Responsibilities:
- Designs eng solutions for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures,production tooling based on established engineering principles with development technology practices & guidelines.
- Develops and implements parameter,test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, developing fan curves, system power measurements & acoustics.
- Interact with mechanical, electrical and camera architect to develop optimum platform design, innovative concept ideas using the latest technologies based on marketing requirement,review RFQ process & new components.
- Collaborates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Leads a project and collaborates internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective ,high-quality solutions for moderately- complex products.
- Apply engineering principles to architect thermal and acoustic solutions that deliver best system performance.
- Specialized knowledge in thermal design and computer system control to identify technologies of interest and create innovative thermal and acoustic solutions.
- Shape the landscape of thermal solutions by managing architectures and strategically planning designs while adhering to budgetary and project scope
- Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in thermal design through HW/FW dev. Drives POC with HW and FW/SW development to prove the new technologies and implementation to further products
- Design, develop, and evaluate thermal systems for commercial products (HVAC systems, heat exchangers)
- Perform thermal simulations and CFD analyses to predict temperature distribution and system behavior.
- Select and specify thermal materials, insulation, and heat transfer methods for various applications.
- Support commercial teams in pre-sales technical discussions, providing thermal expertise and feasibility assessments.
- Conduct laboratory testing, data analysis, and validation of thermal prototypes and systems.
- Create technical documentation, thermal models, and reports for internal and customer use.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging thermal technologies, energy efficiency standards, and regulatory requirements.
Education
bachelor's or master's mechanical Eng with a focus on thermal fluids.4 yrs exp on thermal design and computer system fan control.
Skills-
- Proficiency in using ProEngineer or other 3D CAD software for mechanical design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply them effectively.
- Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics and thermal mockups to validate thermal solutions.
- Experience with fanless, fan, heat pipe, and heatsink design.
- Experience using various thermal interface materials.
- Experience relating component/skin temperature, acoustics, system performance
- Skillful in conveying design proposals ,negotiating options effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal skills ,mastery in English ,local language.
- Effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels
