【About the Role】
We are seeking a high-caliber Android Engineer to join our E-commerce mobile team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to building and scaling world-class native Android applications tailored for the Taiwan market. You will work within a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating with product managers, UI/UX designers, and global engineering squads to deliver seamless, high-performance shopping experiences that impact millions of daily active users.
【Responsibilities】
Scalable Engineering: Plan, design, and develop sophisticated UI components and system architectures that meet evolving business needs while ensuring app stability and performance.
Modern Android Stack: Leverage the latest Android technologies, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines, to build modern, reactive, and maintainable codebases.
Product & UX Innovation: Partner with designers to translate creative visions into reality. Re-engineer key user journeys — from discovery to checkout — to ensure a fluid and intuitive experience on a wide range of Android devices.
Global Collaboration: Work closely with global mobile teams to integrate shared frameworks and contribute to a unified engineering excellence center.
Quality Assurance: Drive a culture of quality by implementing robust unit tests and UI automation tests. Conduct thorough code reviews and advocate for best practices in Android development.
Agile Prototyping: Rapidly prototype new UI concepts and features, using data-driven insights to refine the user experience and maintain a competitive edge in the e-commerce landscape.
Qualifications
【Minimum Qualifications】
BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
3+ years of demonstrated industry experience in Android development, with a deep understanding of the Android SDK and Android Studio.
Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with a strong grasp of modern architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
Hands-on experience with Android Jetpack components (Navigation, Room, ViewModel) and modern concurrency libraries like Coroutines and Flow.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to high-quality code and attention to technical detail.
Solid understanding of Android performance profiling, memory management, and Google Play Store deployment standards.
Proficiency in Mandarin (Chinese) is essential for local market collaboration.
Must be located in Taiwan.
【Preferred Qualifications】
Experience with Jetpack Compose for building modern, declarative UIs.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in agile, global team environments.
Previous experience in the E-commerce or Fintech sectors is highly desirable.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and automated testing frameworks.
A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and integrating emerging mobile technologies.
