about the job
- Own the mechanical design, analysis, and validation of complex electromechanical and kinematic systems (including joints, actuators, enclosures, and structural members).
- Develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D production drawings across plastics, metals, and composites using SolidWorks.
- Set up and run hands-on test rigs (load testing, fatigue, thermal soak, kinematics) collect data to analyze failure modes and drive design iterations.
- Execute DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews with contract manufacturers resolve assembly issues using custom jigs and fixtures.
- Create and maintain strict production drawings, BOMs, build guides, and Design History Files in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
skills & experience required
- Msc / Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering
- 3 years experience in design and development of electro-mechanical / robotics system
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks. Deep expertise in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and creating detailed 2D engineering drawings.
- Proven ability to run FEA (static, dynamic, thermal) and perform kinematics/motion analysis to inform design decisions.
- Experience with legged/bipedal locomotion, high-DOF manipulators, Python scripting for CAD workflows, or sim-to-real hardware deployment.
- Willing & keen to work in a newly startup / setup environment
