About The Role

In this position, the Senior Manager, Hardware (HW) Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of HW Design Engineers, supporting board designs for customers in the Cloud Computing and Hyperscale Industry. The responsibilities for this position include interacting heavily with engineering and product teams to define deliverables, priorities, and processes. You will also help engineers/technicians develop their skills and deliver world-class board designs, prototypes, and proof of concept projects.

What You Will Do

Technical Leadership & Execution

  • Provide expert guidance and technical direction to the HW Engineering team in the execution of multi-layer, high-density PCB designs.
  • Oversee the end-to-end board development lifecycle, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB stack-up definition, and layout review.
  • Act as the technical authority for board-level problem solving, addressing complex signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) challenges.
  • Identify and implement cost-efficient board design practices to optimize BOM (Bill of Materials) costs without sacrificing performance.

Server and Storage Interface Implementation

  • Direct the implementation of high-speed interfaces essential for modern x86 server and storage devices such as PCIe Gen 5/6, DDR5+, NVMe, SATA/SAS-4 and 112G/224G SerDes based networking
  • Coordinate with global architects to translate system-level requirements into robust board-level specifications for server(x86) and storage subsystems.

Power Delivery & Management

  • Oversee the design of complex power conversion delivery solutions supporting high-power CPUs, GPUs, and flash storage arrays.
  • Ensure board-level integration of Baseboard Management Controllers (BMCs) and sensors for real-time telemetric monitoring via IPMI and Redfish.

Partner & Lifecycle Management

  • Manage external design partners to ensure that board-level implementations align with internal quality standards and program schedules.
  • Drive the transition of board designs through EVT, DVT, and PVT phases, ensuring all performance and operational problems are solved before mass production.

Core Experience

  • Exercises independent judgment in planning and organizing work
  • Monitors performance of HW Engineering Team and reports status to senior management
  • Ensures employee compliance with Company policies, procedures, and practices.

What You Bring


  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of direct industry experience in hardware design
  • 8+ years of Management or Design Lead experience, specifically in high-speed board design
  • Creative leader with superior analytical abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills to earn trust and influence partners and teams
  • Knowledge of hardware development process and lifecycle
  • Analytical problem solving
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong ownership, self-motivation, and ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to work successfully with geographically dispersed teams
  • Proactive, positive, deliberate, and focused thinking
  • Strong background in Board and/or Server designs
