Overview
Synaptics is seeking an experienced Sr. Indirect Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for critical engineering-support categories in a high-growth fabless semiconductor environment. This position reports to the VP, Global Supply Chain.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Execute End-to-end procurement for:
- Tools & design software licenses
- Tester jigs, fixtures, sockets, and consigned testers
- Lab & manufacturing equipment, tooling, calibration
- Indirect parts, materials, consumables
- Lead negotiations on pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and renewals
- Knowledge of Oracle system and manage the cost updates
- Develop category strategies and cost roadmaps
- Drive supplier performance, compliance, and risk management
- Partner with Engineering, NPI, Finance, and Operations to support product development and scaling

- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Strong understanding of electronics components, industry standards, market trends, and supplier landscape specific to PC hardware
- Analytical and able to solve complex problems that are not clearly defined and require in depth understanding of organizational objectives and business impact
- Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to effectively resource plan and balance multiple competing priorities
- Able to partner and influence effectively across multiple levels of the organization, building strong cross-functional partnerships both internally and externally
- Proactive self-starter; able to anticipate changes in capacity and adjust plans quickly
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills
Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree (MBA or advanced degree preferred) in supply chain management, Electronics Engineering, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent
- Professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is a plus
- 12+ years of procurement experience in semiconductor, electronics, or related supply chain roles
- Proven track record in negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and securing cost-effective deals
- Demonstrated history of analyzing market data, forecasting trends, and making strategic purchasing decisions
- Proficiency with procurement and supply chain management software, ERP systems (like Oracle), Excel, and project management tools
- Experience collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams
- Demonstrated success managing complex negotiations and multi-year supplier contracts
- Experience from leading IC companies highly preferred
- Travel up to 25% required
