Purpose of this Position
As a Senior Hardware Engineer in the Product Sustaining Department (Industrial Computer Product Line), you will play a critical role in lifecycle management and design optimization for mass-produced products. You will lead technical operations, drive engineering change and provide advanced technical support to ensure product continuity. This role requires cross-functional leadership to resolve complex technical issues, mitigate supply chain risks (such as component obsolescence), and effectively extend product longevity.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Hardware Sustaining & Design Optimization:
Lead Hardware Revisions: Drive hardware design updates and PCBA revisions in response to supply chain disruptions (e.g., component EOL, long lead times) or to enhance product performance, signal integrity, and long-term reliability.
- Technical Project Management: Manage the schedules, milestones, and deliverables for all hardware-related changes and validation activities to ensure seamless product continuity.
- Alternative Sourcing & Integration: Evaluate alternative solutions, architect redesign paths, and perform technical risk assessments to seamlessly integrate new components into existing platforms.
- Customer-Driven Customization: Review, evaluate, and implement design change requests (ECR) tailored to specific customer requirements and industrial applications.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Problem Solving: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance, to efficiently resolve complex hardware issues reported from the field or internal teams. You will be expected to drive root cause analysis and implement continuous improvements in both design and processes.
- Supply Chain Strategic Achievement: Ensure the long-term stability and reliability of the product portfolio. Your efforts will directly contribute to extending the product lifecycle and proactively mitigate supply chain risks to guarantee consistent product delivery.
- Evaluate second source and test plan for alternative assessment procedure.
- Risk management / Mitigation of Risks regarding component level in product.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Education: 電子、電機等相關科系畢業,大學(含)以上,研究所畢業佳
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in hardware product development, with deep knowledge of x86 or ARM architecture and relevant industrial test standards. (Project leadership experience is a strong plus).
- Language: 中文流利,英文聽讀寫佳,TOEIC 470以上。
- Core Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven track record in hardware product design, with experience spanning from development to mass production (sustaining, cost-reduction, or redesign experience is highly preferred).
- Strong cross-functional collaboration experience with ME, Thermal, SIV, PE, and DQA teams.
- Nice to have:
- Exceptional communication and coordination skills to align stakeholders under project pressure.
- Highly accountable, details-oriented, and self-driven with strong execution capabilities.
Required Competencies
- EDA Tools: Proficiency in Cadence OrCAD / Allegro and Gerber viewers for schematic and layout review.
- Hardware Verification: Experience in writing Hardware Test Plans and executing validation for component changes.
- Instrument Mastery: Hands-on experience with High-Speed Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, and Spectrum Analyzers.
- EMC/EMI Troubleshooting: Proven capability in diagnosing and resolving EMC/EMI compliance issues at board/system levels.
- Problem Solving: Strong Root Cause Analysis (RCA) skills to deliver reliable solutions under tight schedules.
