Job Summary

As a global leader in networking solution innovation, Super Micro Computer's mission is to develop and provide the market with end-to end computing solution and high performance networking products. We have an immediate need for a Hardware Design Engineer to join our talented and bright design team. The candidate will play a key role in the development process of in-house server motherboards, by working collaboratively with cross-functional engineering team as well as outside partners to ensure the robust design of the boards. The candidate must be self-motivated and possess a strong will to do great things, with a result-driven mindset to develop the most competitive and endurance board products.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating specifications, design schemes, and project functional blocks, correctly selecting parts and vendors, testing equipment for new projects, and modifying/enhancing existing designs.
  • Responsible for schematics captures, layout check, BOM creation, and debugging and testing of server board/add-on card/backplane products.
  • Collaborate with validation engineers and labs to discover and solve any quality-related issues of designs in the early stages.
  • Create fluent technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, test procedures, etc.
  • Set up testing environment, resolve complicated issues, and work on critical engineering problems.
  • Ensure product conforms to engineering specifications and regulatory and customer performance expectations.
  • Transfer products to manufacturing with clear documentation and help C.M. and technical support to solve problems.

Qualifications

  • BSEE/MSEE with 5+ years of hardware design hands-on experience in X86 Server/Workstation/Storage motherboard design.
  • Knowledge of high-speed circuit design and voltage regular circuit design.
  • In-depth knowledge of PCB layout, OrCAD/Allegro tools, circuit design, and PCB structure.
  • Proficiency in design tools OrCAD/Allegro or Concept HDL.
  • Familiar with digital scope and high-speed bus measurement.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to achieve design goals to the best quality and fast time-to-market.
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving capability, and ability to adapt and learn new concepts and technologies.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment.
