Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Sr. GL Accountant to join our dynamic and growing organization. This role will be responsible for various accounting functions (GL, FA, AP) in the shared service center and work with both the local accounting team and controllers in different countries. There are cross-training and learning opportunities within the shared service organization for motivated individuals. This position reports to the General Ledger Manager.

Responsibilities & Competencies


Job Duties

  • Prepare and enter recurring monthly journal entries for assigned entities
  • Provide lease accounting and deferred rent schedule validating & posting
  • Provide intercompany transactions preparation and settlement
  • Submit closing package to Controllers for review monthly
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliation and quarterly fluctuate analysis
  • Fulfill any inquiries / instruction from local Controllers
  • Assist with statutory audits
  • Assist GL Manager in developing, implementing, and improving accounting processes and procedures
  • Ensure all transactions comply with company policies and appropriate GAAP and internal controls
  • Supports treasury and FX reporting and analysis
  • Responsible for FA addition/adjustment/retirement/scrap, etc. and monthly reconciliation
  • Provide vendor invoice processing (Purchase Order-based and Non Purchase Order-based) including quality check of Supplier Invoices, Supplier Setups, and Supplier Queries
  • Monitor the status of pending invoices and communicate timely with local entities to resolve AP and payment issues
  • Arrange payments for supplier invoices and employee reimbursements in accordance with payment terms and procedures
  • Assist in AP monthly closing activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with the company policy and the local regulations

Qualifications (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field or equivalent
  • 5+ years of GL/AP working experience in MNC with US GAAP
  • 2 years of experience working in one of the Big 4 is desired
  • Experience with an ERP system a must (Oracle R12 is preferred)
  • Advanced MS-Office software especially Excel
  • No travel required
