Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Firmware QA Engineer to join our dynamic and growing organization. In this role you will be responsible for validating firmware functionality and performance, to collaborate cross-functional teams to deliver quality products to our customers. This position reports to the Manager, Firmware QA.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Understand product features and define test scenarios and methodologies
- Perform automated and manual tests according to the test plan and create test reports
- Identify, isolate, and document bugs clearly and concisely in the bug tracking system
- Design automated testing software/scripts to facilitate the validation process
- Collaborate with cross-function teams on product development and defining the test cases for new functionality and features
- Proactively work with engineers to clarify issues/bugs and refine the testing strategy
- Perform test tool maintenance and automation test development

- Familiar with QA validation methodologies and able to perform QA testing independently

Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Electronic engineering or related field, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Solid knowledge of PC architecture and operating systems desired
- Strong programming skills in C# & Python
- Experience with automation test development
- Experience with common test equipment such as logic analyzer, oscilloscope, function generator, etc.
- Minimal travel up to 10% required
