About our group:

Mechanical Development Verification Test (mDVT) will support mechanical design change validation, FA (Failure analysis) and qualify at the M1 level (Maturity Level 1) for Drive/Component level test development. We work closely with the Mechanical Design team at Normandale, USA and Asia for support test experiments and deliver summary results.

About the role - you will:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain complex manufacturing equipment and tools used in mechanical design verification testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for process and equipment-related issues.
  • Support engineering teams in process improvement, yield enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Assist in the setup and qualification of new tools, processes, and products.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and operators on standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and cleanroom protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including logs, reports, and data entry into the lab tracking systems.

About you:

  • High Vocational Certificate or bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in HDD or semiconductor industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience with precision tools, microscopes, and automated equipment.
  • Familiarity with SPC, FMEA, 5 Why, and other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work in a cleanroom and shift-based environment.

Your experience includes:

  • Experience with AFM, SEM, or other metrology tools.
  • Knowledge of firmware loading, slider bonding, or head gimbal assembly processes.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills for equipment automation (e.g., Python, LabVIEW) is a plus.
