Job Description

Job Location: On-site in Hsinchu, Taiwan

As a Sr. Engineer in the Test Hardware group, you will be responsible for enabling high volume production testing of Ayar Labs next-generation TeraPHYTM optical I/O chiplet. Responsibilities will include implementing cutting-edge optoelectronic test hardware in Taiwan's manufacturing ecosystem. You will join a rapidly expanding team in a dynamic startup environment; where each member is able and expected to take on a wide range of responsibilities, and to learn and grow with the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bring-up and provide hands-on support for Wafer-Level Test hardware needs as defined by Produce Development, Design, and Validation Engineering teams
  • Troubleshoot Test equipment issues related to optical instrumentation, electrical components, or software
  • Analyze Test results and tool KPPs using statistical analysis to demonstrate repeatability and reproducibility of equipment and data
  • Optimize test flows, processes, and equipment to reduce Test times and enable high volume manufacturing
  • Work with Foundries, OSATs, and Test Houses to qualify next generation Test hardware
  • Interpret test data, create reports based on the results, and communicate observations/recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with Ayar Labs Data Engineering to ensure that test results flow smoothly into our internal database

Basic Qualifications

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in CMOS or related device testing
  • Hands-on experience with wafer-level test equipment, including ATEs, Probers, and Probe Cards
  • Hands-on experience with bench electronic equipment such as Oscilloscopes, VI meters, signal generators and analyzers
  • Experience writing and debugging software and recipes used to automate Test equipment and instrumentation
  • Experience using statistical analysis methods (GR&R, SPC, and DOE) and tools (i.e. JMP) to drive technical decisions
  • Understanding of semiconductor physics, optics, and fiber optics

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience testing, characterizing, and qualifying optoelectronic systems and equipment, including OSA's, MZM's, DCA's, BER testers, SMU's, and polarization controllers
  • Understanding of DFT insertion techniques including Scan, ATPG, and LBIST
  • Ability to read and understand firmware code
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience working in Windows and Linux environments
  • Experience with software version control, including Git tracking
