Sr. Delivery Director- Data Engineering - Chennai/Hyderabad

We are currently hiring experienced Delivery Lead to oversee and guide a team of 20 IT professionals in delivering complex IT projects and enterprise data initiatives. The ideal candidate will have at least 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with strong expertise in Databricks, ETL/BI solutions, cloud data platforms, and large-scale migration programs. This role requires a leader who can successfully drive end-to-end delivery, manage client relationships, and lead cross-functional teams through business and technology transformations.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

1. Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, including developers, data engineers, BI analysts, business analysts, and QA testers, ensuring all team members are aligned with project goals and objectives.
2. Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance evaluations for team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment.
3. Promote a culture of continuous learning, skill development, and innovation within the team.
4. Guide technical teams on best practices related to Databricks, data integration, ETL modernization, and analytics solutions.

Project Management:

1. Lead the delivery of complex IT projects and enterprise data migration initiatives from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
2. Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, defining key deliverables, timelines, resources, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies.
3. Oversee cloud migration, data warehouse modernization, ETL transformation, and BI platform implementation projects.
4. Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring all project milestones are met.
5. Coordinate multiple workstreams across application, infrastructure, data, and reporting teams.

Data & Analytics Delivery:

1. Lead the delivery of solutions utilizing Databricks, cloud-based data platforms, ETL frameworks, and Business Intelligence (BI) technologies.
2. Manage end-to-end data integration initiatives, including data ingestion, transformation, validation, and reporting.
3. Ensure successful migration of data assets from legacy platforms to modern cloud-based analytics environments.
4. Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams to establish scalable data pipelines and reporting solutions.

Client Communications:

1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing all aspects of communication throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that their expectations are met and exceeded.
3. Provide regular status updates to clients and address concerns promptly, ensuring clear and transparent communication at all stages.
4. Present migration strategies, project status, risks, and executive-level reporting to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management:

1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external vendors to ensure alignment with business objectives.
2. Effectively manage relationships with stakeholders, providing clear visibility into project performance and addressing any potential risks or issues.
3. Partner with business and technical teams to align ETL, BI, and migration strategies with enterprise goals.

Risk and Issue Management:

1. Identify potential risks to project success and develop strategies to mitigate those risks early in the project lifecycle.
2. Proactively resolve project issues, escalating to senior management as needed to ensure timely resolutions.
3. Manage risks associated with data migration, data quality, ETL processes, reporting accuracy, and platform modernization efforts.

Continuous Improvement:

1. Lead post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements for future projects.
2. Foster a culture of process improvement and share best practices across teams to enhance overall delivery performance.
3. Drive adoption of industry best practices in Databricks, data engineering, ETL automation, and BI reporting frameworks
