Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Business Development Manager (Sr. BDM) to spearhead strategic initiatives that drive growth and market expansion for Synaptics the PC Business Unit. This role requires a strategic thinker and results-oriented individual capable of identifying opportunities, fostering partnerships, and strengthening customer engagement. The Sr, BDM will collaborate with BU apps, marketing & technical teams to implement business strategies that support PC BU goals and ensure worldwide revenue growth. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Product Marketing, PC.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Shape and execute business strategies aligned with BU's objectives of expanding market share for PC solutions products
- Partner with module houses and IHVs in both touchpad and fingerprint to define clear roles and responsibilities, strengthen collaboration for future product development, ensure effective project execution, and jointly promote products to OEMs through flexible engagement models
- Build strong relationships with ecosystem partners to maintain leadership in PC solutions, driving definition of advanced features and interface support
- Expand the opportunity funnel by identifying and pursuing key market opportunities within core IoT segments
- Collaborate with corporate marketing to support tradeshow planning and execution
- Guide and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives and meet deliverables
Competencies
- Strong understanding of the PC development cycle and business operating model from sensor suppliers to end manufacturers
- Knowledge of Touchpad and Fingerprint technologies with insights into PC enterprise & consumer industry trends
- Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical and able to solve complex problems that are not clearly defined and require in depth understanding of organizational objectives and business impact
- Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to effectively resource plan and balance multiple competing priorities
- Able to partner and influence effectively across multiple levels of the organization, building strong cross-functional partnerships both internally and externally
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication that is clear, concise and compelling
- Ability to identify and seize new business opportunities in the PC market to drive revenue growth
Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree (MBA or advanced degree preferred) in Engineering, Business, or a related field or equivalent
- 12+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic roles, preferably in the semiconductor or technology industry
- Proven track record of identifying and developing new business opportunities and driving revenue growth
- Demonstrated strong negotiation skills with a history of managing complex engagements
- Demonstrated history of thinking strategically and executing operationally
- Domestic and international travel up to 25% required
