Job Scope

The Specialty Gases Operation Specialist serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Asia, providing guidance and support in specialty gases operations and technical related activities. This role is responsible for developing and implementing global specialty gases procedures to ensure safe operations across Asia Specialty Gases (SG) transfill plants. Key responsibilities include adopting and implementing Specialty Gases filling technology, reviewing and approving commercial proposals, promoting best practices sharing in specialty gases across Asia, and providing training on Specialty Gases operations within the Asia Specialty Gases community.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Air Products patented Gas Blending Tool (Mixmaster II & Camel) to generate recipe for specialty gases production.
  • Partner with Europe SG CoE for Mixmaster Level 2&4 production recipes.
  • Accountable for training to Asia team on Mixmaster quotation level 1-3.
  • Accountable for training to new and existing SG operators on flam-oxy mixture production.
  • Accountable for SG basic knowledge training to commercial team
  • Review/Approve eMOC (Management of Change) related to SG operations procedure
  • Generate PG Pressure -Temperature fill chart for Pure and mixture gas using Mixmaster program.
  • Accountable for audits to ensure compliance to Global Safety procedures for all Flam/Oxy mixture filling recipe at Asia SG production sites.
  • Lead Root Causes Analysis investigation for all Specialty Gases related Near Miss incidents including lessons learnt and action plans
  • Support commercial team on complex quotations or tenders.
  • Collaborate with commercial team to create specialty gas catalogues and new tools/differentiated offerings to win SG business.
  • Represent Asia Industrial Gases Association (AIGA) ESG work group
  • Ensure that all sub-region SG operations comply with Air Products global EH&S, Operational and quality standards and focusing on specific customer requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • University degree in technical discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Assurance. Post-graduate qualification from an internationally recognized school preferred.
  • Min of 5 years experience in the Electronics or Specialty Gas process operations or supply chain organization, with quality assurance knowledge is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to act and sound decision independently.
  • Good English oral and written communication skill.
  • Proficiency in SAP (Requisition / Internal Ordering / Material Handler SAP roles) is an advantage
  • This role requires traveling in China, Malaysia, Korea, and Europe SG center.
