The Role:
The Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of Outsourcing activities within Entegris.
The Buyer is responsible for daytoday purchasing operations and serves as a subject matter expert in materials management.
This position will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure a timely, accurate, and uninterrupted supply of materials.
The ideal candidate is inquisitive, a strong team player, demonstrates excellent attention to detail, and embodies strong work ethics with a proactive and positive attitude.
In this role you will:
- Ensure material availability in alignment with MRP signals and proactively address supply gaps.
- Create and process purchase orders (POs), outline agreements, contracts, and change orders with approved vendors to optimize inventory.
- Manage supplier order and delivery confirmations and maintain timely updates to order details.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and couriers to meet PO delivery ETD/ETA, and resolve shipment, warehouse, and other related issues with Logistics as required.
- Manage suppliers production capacity and schedules to mitigate constraints and achieve on time delivery and shipment targets.
- Monitor safety stock settings to ensure optimal materials availability.
- Collaborate with Quality teams on supplier quality issues with other stakeholders to drive resolution, including managing RMA/RTV processes, as required.
- Resolve supplier invoice exceptions (VIM) in partnership with suppliers and Finance.
- Ensure systems data integrity, support NPI activities, and drive continuous improvement in business processes and tools.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to consistently meet customer service levels.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
- Familiarity with SAP systems.
- More than 35 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner in the semiconductor industry.
- JLPT N1 certified; fluent in both written and spoken Chinese, English and Japanese.
- Possess experience working with suppliers in Japan and has strong understanding of Japanese working culture.
- Strong knowledge of endtoend supply chain processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Power BI.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, supported by logical thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a crossfunctional environment.
- Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing demands, priorities, and organizational needs.
- Highly detailoriented (e.g.: checking pricing, dates) with a persistent drive to follow through to issue resolution.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
