Role Summary
The technical leader and owner of the special processes, working closely with the production and New Product Introduction (NPI) engineering teams to ensure Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), quality, and process stability are maintained in these areas.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive the thermal spray processes forward by developing innovative solutions geared towards continuous improvement and elevate our operations to the next generation of production excellence
Responsibilities
- Act as Special Process Owner or delegated Special Process Owner should current qualification does not meet necessary qualification defined by aeDMS 259.08 and local Quality procedures
- Improve existing repair process at thermal spray areas along with continuous monitoring
- Rework, Delivery and Cost metrics for exceptions and trends, define and implement corrective and improvement actions, use data for prioritization
- Develop new technologies on thermal spray repairs to replace conventional means
- Providing formal & informal thermal spray process related training to inspectors, operators and engineers
- Leading, developing and implementing all the technical enablers/projects targeting changes/Improvements (EHS/Quality/effective repair process), including industrialization efforts of the new repair solution, for the assigned processes and product impacted by this process: Routings (task lists), Working procedure sheet/Work Instruction, required Materials, Fixtures, Tools & Supplies, Environment, related Trainings, New Equipment, etc.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Relevant years of experience in at least one of the following special processes: welding, chemical cleaning, heat treatment, thermal spray, composites, DFL, EDM, machining, or shot peening; aerospace industry experience preferred.
- Proficient English skills in writing, oral and reading
- Strong mindset and execution of SQDC and a fast learner of FLIGHT DECK
- Detailed and hands-on; with good interpersonal skills and passion to mentor junior team members
- Able to work independently and also a good team player
