Sourcing Engineer - Packaging

Molex is seeking a Sourcing Engineer - Packaging to join our Indirect Category Sourcing Team. This role will support the sourcing activities for all indirect purchases with high focus on packaging projects across different business units in Molex. You will work with Global and Regional Category Management teams to execute sourcing and supplier strategies. This role will provide you with the opportunity to build up knowledge of the world-class procurement organization and set path to outstanding procurement professionals.

This role will be in Taipei, Taiwan (Hybrid).

Our Team

Our team: Category Sourcing Center - Global Supply Chain.

Project stakeholders: Product Development Engineering team, PM, MIE, Quality & Category Managers etc. from BU and Operation teams at multiple locations.

What You Will Do

• Lead sourcing activities for packaging materials and packaging-related services.
• Develop and manage strategic relationships with packaging suppliers to ensure cost, quality, delivery, and service performance.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Logistics, and Product Management teams to support packaging requirements and new product launches.
• Drive cost reduction projects through supplier negotiations, packaging optimization, value engineering, and standardization initiatives.
• Conduct supplier selection, RFQ/RFP activities, commercial evaluations, and contract negotiations.
• Monitor market trends, material innovations, and supplier capabilities to identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Support regional and global packaging sourcing strategies while ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement processes.
  
  

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree is required, with at least 5 years of sourcing/procurement experience and 2-3 years of hands-on experience in packaging sourcing and supplier management.
• Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and drive accountability
• Demonstrated experience driving cross functional collaboration across business units and geographies
• Familiar with cost breakdown analysis, should cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a global organization.
  
  

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in packaging materials including corrugated cartons, labels, trays, foam, tape, returnable packaging, or ESD packaging.
• Knowledge of packaging design, packaging testing, logistics optimization, and sustainability initiatives.Fluent in English and Mandarin and be able to present in English.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
