Job Description

Established in 1987 and headquartered in Taiwan, TSMC pioneered the pure-play foundry business model with an exclusive focus on manufacturing its customers products. As of 2024, TSMC serves more than 500 customers and manufactures over 11,000 products for high-performance computing, smartphones, the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive, and digital consumer electronics. It is the world's largest provider of logic ICs, with an annual capacity of 16 million 12-inch equivalent wafers. TSMC operates fabs in Taiwan as well as manufacturing subsidiaries in Washington State, Japan and China, and the Company began construction on a specialty technology fab in Dresden, Germany, in 2024. In Arizona, TSMC is building three fabs, with the first starting 4nm production in 2025, the second by 2028, and the third by the end of the decade.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Solution Design and Architecture:

(1) Collaborate on designing comprehensive solution architectures by integrating diverse IT platform services, including cloud infrastructure, to build reliable and scalable IT systems.

(2) Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure solutions align with technical requirements, leverage platform capabilities, and reliably support business objectives.

2. Technology Evaluation and Recommendation:

(1) Continuously assess and recommend open-source technologies across areas such as compute, storage, databases, security, networking, application and AI/ML frameworks to enhance IT platform services.

3. Cross-functional Collaboration:

(1) Work closely with IT DevOps teams to achieve the shared goal of delivering workload solutions that address TSMC's needs for reliability and scalability.

4. Product Planning and Execution:

(1) Coordinate with IT Product Managers to oversee the lifecycle of IT-managed platform products, ensuring they meet requirements for reliability, scalability, and manageability.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

(1) Develop and maintain detailed workload reference architecture documents based on IT platform services.

(2) Prepare periodic reports on product performance, project progress, and platform service adoption for review by senior management.

Job Qualifications:

1. Educational Background: A master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or Engineering is required.

2. Professional Experience:

(1) A minimum of 10 years of experience in designing complex solution architectures for enterprise, AIML, and manufacturing workloads, including collaboration with DevOps and engineering teams for IT/product development and delivery.

(2) Proven success in delivering complex solutions that comply with well-architected principles, while providing strategic guidance in technology development and managing platform products, including cloud services, within the IT industry.

3. Technical Skills:

(1) Extensive expertise in designing complex workload solutions based on best-practice reference architectures, integrating IT-native platforms and cloud services to support enterprise and fabrication manufacturing operations.

(2) Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure and platform services, including servers, virtual machines (VMs), databases, data platforms, web application development, security, networking, enterprise systems and AI/ML frameworks.

(3) Knowledge of enterprise systems, AI/ML platforms, IT operations, semiconductor, and high-tech industries is highly preferred.

4. Personal Attributes:

(1) A strong willingness to learn and tackle new challenges.

(2) Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical requirements effectively and craft compelling narratives.
