About the role
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead the development and operation of renewable energy systems across a 10,000-hectare oil palm plantation. This role will oversee end-to-end solar projects, from design and installation to long-term performance optimization, supporting plantation operations including irrigation, mill factory, biochar factory, fleet, composting, administration, and housing.
- Lead the planning and execution of solar PV and hybrid energy systems across the plantation.
- Identify and implement solar energy opportunities for irrigation, mill factory, biochar factory, fleet, composting, administration, and housing.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and project timelines to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and system integration activities.
- Ensure high system performance through monitoring and preventive maintenance programs.
- Drive energy cost reduction initiatives and improve overall efficiency.
- Support sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction and ESG reporting.
- Train and supervise on-site technical teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in solar, power systems, or energy projects.
- Certified Energy Manager, Solar PV certification, or Project Management Professional certification is preferred.
- Strong background in off-grid or hybrid energy systems.
- Experience managing projects in remote or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with solar design tools such as PVsyst and monitoring systems.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Exposure to agriculture or plantation environments is a strong advantage.
