Job Title: Storage Firmware Test EngineerDesignation: Software Engineer


Location: Mphasis Taiwan
Job Summary

This role will collaborate with the project lead test engineer to ensure the delivery of high-quality firmware for Client storage products. The Storage Firmware Test Engineer will be responsible for hands-on testing of storage hardware, software, and firmware, focusing on various workloads and failure scenarios to meet customer expectations.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on testing of storage hardware, software, and firmware under diverse workloads, failure scenarios, and environmental conditions.

  • Set up and maintain test environments, including racks, servers, and storage enclosures.

  • Adhere to the defect management process for reporting, updating, and closing defects.

  • Reproduce defects for debugging and provide detailed reports on findings.


Mandatory Skills

  • Proficient in server platform testing, particularly with SAS RAID/non-RAID adapters and networking/storage I/O adapters.

  • Strong understanding of storage protocols, including JBOD/SAN storage testing (SAS/SATA/NVMe, iSCSI, SMB/NFS, Fibre Channel, etc.).

  • Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, VLAN, and RDMA.

  • In-depth knowledge of firmware testing processes and methodologies.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with automation tools for testing storage systems.

  • Knowledge of performance benchmarking and analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages for test automation.

  • Understanding of cloud storage solutions and their integration with on-premises systems.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Relevant certifications in storage technologies or testing methodologies are a plus.
