Preferred qualifications:

- Experience in software/hardware integration, system bring-up, and diagnostics.
- Experience with open source development or Open Compute Projects (OCP).
- Experience in the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) (e.g., Automated Mainframe Intelligence (AMI) BMC or OpenBMC) or Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) development, machine management software development, or Linux kernel development.
- Experience in Python and scripting languages (e.g., Shell).

In this role, you will maintain and enhance the core software that runs on every server in Google's massive production fleet. Responsibilities
- Lead, design, implement, and measure next generation reliable and distributed machine monitoring and management software. Design messaging layers, implement C/C++ libraries, write system daemons, and participate in end-to-end system design, analysis, and measurement.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to plan and execute the engineering programs, including product development and productivity improvement.
- Mentor the team by modeling standards, providing feedback, and implementing practices to improve productivity.
- Develop technical and product roadmaps and influence executive decisions. Define and implement the best practices for multiple teams.
