Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, C or C++.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
- Experience in Linux camera software stack development such as camera driver, hal, framework and application.
- Experience in Internet of Things (IoT) camera and smart home technologies.
- Experience in one or more design skill of the following areas: networking, embedded Linux, network video streaming and camera stack or camera system design.

Our products include smart displays, smart speakers, cameras, chromecast, and mesh Wi-Fi routers. By integrating Google's AI, software, and hardware expertise, we deliver helpful user experiences. Our team researches, designs, and develops groundbreaking technologies and hardware to make computing interactions faster, seamless, and more empowering.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop the camera software stack for next-generation Google Home camera and doorbell devices globally.
- Contribute to camera stack design, ensuring code quality and scalability, and implementing best practices across video drivers, networking, media streaming, and userspace services.
- Track task progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders to ensure alignment with software milestones.
