Opportunity 1: Senior Manager, Underwriting Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the underwriting operations team to achieve productivity, quality, efficiency, and service objectives
• Oversee daily underwriting operations and ensure adherence to service standards, turnaround times, accuracy, and compliance requirements
• Review and approve key underwriting decisions within delegated authority
• Drive operational transformation and process improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and business efficiency
• Implement robust risk management practices and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal governance requirements
• Monitor and analyse operational KPIs, identify performance gaps, and execute appropriate improvement measures
• Collaborate with Distribution, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams to support business objectives
• Manage relationships with outsourcing partners and service providers where applicable
• Develop team capabilities through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and training programmes
• Support management reporting, audit activities, governance reviews, and business planning initiatives

Requirements

• 10-15+ years of experience within insurance, underwriting, new business, or operations functions
• Proven leadership experience managing teams and delivering operational results
• Strong understanding of underwriting operations, risk controls, and regulatory requirements
• Demonstrated track record in process improvement, transformation, and operational excellence initiatives
• Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders and business projects
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and people leadership skills

Opportunity 2: Senior Officer, Underwriting Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct underwriting assessments for medical and non-medical insurance applications within delegated authority limits
• Evaluate complex, referred, and re-underwriting cases in accordance with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite
• Make sound underwriting decisions while maintaining service standards and turnaround time requirements
• Provide technical underwriting advice and support to distribution channels and internal stakeholders
• Act as a key escalation point for complex underwriting enquiries and case assessments
• Support the development of junior underwriters through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing
• Contribute to continuous improvement of underwriting quality, consistency, and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of life insurance underwriting experience
• Strong technical expertise in medical and non-medical underwriting
• Comprehensive knowledge of life insurance products, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements
• Excellent analytical, risk assessment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
