The Site Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Key responsibilities include overseeing installations, leading testing and commissioning activities, performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues to minimize system downtime, and supporting system upgrades. The role also involves providing on-site technical assistance, ensuring proper documentation, maintaining safety standards, and providing hands-on support to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of BESS.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in site installations and commissioning activities in compliance with technical specifications and safety protocols.
- Support routine maintenance, inspection, and servicing of BESS, PCS, and related equipment (e.g. Switchgears, Transformers).
- Conduct on-site data collection and performance checks using diagnostic tools or software as instructed.
- Maintain accurate and timely site records including checklists, service reports, and photo documentation.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on site to support timely execution of works.
- Support system upgrades, replacement activities, and performance testing.
- Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions, including software and hardware issues.
- Adhere strictly to HSE standards and site regulations report unsafe practices immediately.
- Participate in on-site training, toolbox meetings, and risk assessments.
- Participate in field audits, analyse results, and ensure performance assurance of installed systems.
- Maintain a professional relationship with clients and contractors while on-site.

- Provide feedback on recurring issues or improvement suggestions observed during fieldwork.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process requirements and translate them into effective solutions.

Job requirements:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or site-based service work.
- Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Familiarity with electrical equipment such as battery systems, switchgear, and power inverters is advantageous.
- Exposure to renewable energy systems (solar, BESS) is a plus.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, monitoring platforms, and software to analyse system performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
