Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Monitoring & Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain observability and proactive monitoring solutions to ensure the availability, performance, and reliability of applications and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and administer monitoring and observability tools for system, application, and log monitoring.
• Enhance and integrate monitoring solutions to enable proactive issue detection and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to provide operational insights and identify performance trends.
• Analyse application logs, system metrics, and monitoring data to troubleshoot issues and support root cause analysis.
• Automate day-to-day operational tasks using Ansible, Jenkins, Shell Scripting, PowerShell, and Python to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for system administration, deployment, and operational workflows.
• Support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives to improve system stability, availability, and operational excellence.
• Handle service requests related to monitoring, automation, and platform reliability.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support for production incidents, critical service requests, and project cutover activities as required.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, database, and middleware teams to resolve incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Continuously improve monitoring coverage, alerting mechanisms, and operational processes through automation and best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and monitoring standards.

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IT Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Monitoring, or Infrastructure Automation.
• Hands-on experience with scripting and automation using Ansible, Shell Scripting, Python, and/or PowerShell.
• Experience implementing and managing monitoring and observability platforms.
• Strong knowledge of log analysis, metrics collection, dashboard creation, and alert management.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, Unix, AWS Cloud, databases, and middleware platforms.
• Experience with analytics and visualisation tools such as Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), and SQL.
• Understanding of incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and production support processes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins is highly desirable.
• SRE, Cloud, Linux, or Automation-related certifications are advantageous.
• Self-motivated with strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
