Job Description

Confidential Search We're looking for a seasoned Site General Manager (GM) or Deputy GM for one of the leading Semiconductor Foundry companies. This is a high-level senior leadership role responsible for the end-to-end operations of a semiconductor fabrication plant (Fab). This includes managing massive capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets, ensuring world-class manufacturing yields, fostering a culture of rigorous safety and quality, and maintaining deep technical relationships with fabless customers. Welcome Mandarin-speaking leaders from Singapore & USA.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Operational Excellence & Yield Management

Yield Optimization: Drive continuous improvement in Line Yield and Die Yield to meet aggressive quarterly targets.

Throughput & Cycle Time: Oversee production scheduling to maximize wafer starts per month (WSPM) while minimizing cycle time.

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness): Ensure that multi-million dollar lithography (EUV/DUV), etching, and deposition tools operate at peak uptime.

2. Financial & Strategic Leadership

P&L Ownership: Full accountability for the site's bottom line, including labor costs, raw materials (wafers/chemicals), and energy consumption.

CapEx Planning: Lead the installation and qualification of new toolsets for technology node migrations (e.g., transitioning from 7nm to 5nm).

Strategic Expansion: Manage site scaling, including cleanroom expansions and facility upgrades.

3. Customer & Quality Assurance

Foundry-Customer Interface: Serve as the primary point of escalation for tier-one fabless clients regarding production status and quality excursions.

Quality Systems: Maintain rigorous adherence to ISO 9001, IATF 16949 (Automotive), and other industry-specific certifications.

4. People & Safety Culture

Workforce Development: Lead a multi-disciplinary team of 1,000+ employees, including Process Engineers, Technicians, and Support Staff.

EHS Leadership: Champion a Zero-Harm environment, ensuring strict compliance with hazardous material handling and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • Industry Tenure: 15+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, ideally wafer foundry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Director of Operations or Fab Manager).
  • Foundry Knowledge: Deep understanding of front-end-of-line (FEOL) and back-end-of-line (BEOL) processes.

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Six Sigma / Lean: Black Belt certification or equivalent expertise in statistical process control (SPC).
  • Crisis Management: Proven ability to lead a site through Down-Fab events or supply chain disruptions.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex technical yield data into clear business outcomes for board-level presentations.
