Site Electrical Inspector (ONS)

Are you an experienced electrical inspection professional with strong expertise in high-voltage substation works Do you have hands-on experience overseeing installation, testing and commissioning activities within large energy infrastructure projects If so, LAUTEC has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Site Electrical Inspector.

The Role

As an Onshore Substation Site Electrical Inspector, you will monitor and verify electrical works related to the onshore substation, ensuring that installation, testing and commissioning activities meet approved quality plans, inspection procedures and project requirements.

This is a site-based independent QC role with no construction execution duties.

What You Will Do

• Inspect and monitor HV/MV/LV electrical installation, testing, and commissioning works.
• Witness inspections, SATs, functional tests, and energisation readiness per approved ITPs.
• Verify compliance for major equipment (power transformers, GIS, harmonic filter, protection & control, SCADA, earthing, cables).
• Raise, track, and close non-conformities and punch items.
• Review and verify inspection records, test reports, and as-built documentation.
• Interface with Contractor, Employer, and third-party inspectors while maintaining independence from execution activities.
• Support site supervision activities.

What Are We Looking For

• Relevant degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or similar, paired with a general interest in developing renewable energy projects.
• Minimum 8 years of proven work experience in HV/MV substation projects, ideally within offshore wind or grid infrastructure developments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation, testing, and commissioning practices.
• Experience working under ISO 9001compliant QMS and ITP-based inspections.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and test procedures.
• Electrical inspection or commissioning certification would be considered a strong advantage.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin, enabling clear and effective communication.
