The Site E&I Engineer SHALL: Represent Global E&C Solutions toward the client, partners, and subcontractors in all Electrical & Instrumentation construction, installation, and commissioning matters.
About the Role
Provide technical supervision and engineering support to contractors to ensure correct interpretation and implementation of AL standards, procedures, and design requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe, timely, and high-quality execution of all Electrical and Instrumentation works, including installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning support activities.
- Act as the site focal point for all E&I technical, quality, and coordination matters under the Site Manager's leadership.
- Verify compliance of all E&I works with approved drawings, specifications, codes, and project requirements.
- Support integration between construction, engineering, commissioning, and project control teams to ensure smooth execution of E&I scope.
- Demonstrate strong technical leadership, safety awareness, and coordination capability in a multi-contractor environment.
- Provide transparent reporting on progress, quality status, risks, constraints, and construction performance for E&I activities.
- Ensure proper control, traceability, and verification of all E&I materials, installations, and test activities.
- Support successful mechanical completion and handover of E&I systems to commissioning and operations teams.
The E&I Engineer SHALL perform the following tasks:
- Supervise all Electrical and Instrumentation installation activities on site, including HV/MV/LV systems, control systems, instrumentation, and associated cabling works.
- Ensure that all E&I works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, ITPs, and applicable standards.
- Review contractor method statements, ITPs, and procedures, and ensure alignment with project requirements and AL engineering standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and surveillance activities to verify installation quality and compliance.
- Identify, record, and follow up non-conformities (NCRs), punch list items, and deviations, ensuring timely corrective actions.
- Support installation of electrical power systems including transformers, MCCs, switchgear, UPS systems, grounding, and lighting systems.
- Oversee instrumentation installation including tubing, wiring, junction boxes, field instruments, and control system interfaces.
- Monitor cable pulling, termination, glanding, and labelling activities to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Ensure correct implementation of loop checking, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, and functional testing.
- Participate in system walkdowns and mechanical completion activities.
- Coordinate with commissioning teams for energization planning, system readiness, and safe execution of testing activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Electrical & Instrumentation construction in industrial projects.
- Strong experience in HV/MV/LV electrical systems installation and commissioning.
- Experience in instrumentation systems including wiring, tubing, and control systems integration.
- Familiar with ASU, Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or chemical plant construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities is required.
- Ability to review technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documents.
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Willingness to work in a site-based, multicultural, and fast-paced environment.
