Service Engineer (mechanical)

We are seeking a motivated Service Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to install, maintain, test, and repair marine engine onboard vessels and in our workshop. The role includes occasional travel for onboard servicing, surveys, and sea trials.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair marine engine equipment
• Perform onboard servicing and attend sea trials to verify equipment functionality and compliance
• Diagnose equipment faults and implement effective solutions to minimize vessel downtime
• Prepare detailed service reports, test certificates, and technical documentation for client and regulatory use
• Liaise with clients, classification societies, and equipment manufacturers to coordinate service and compliance activities
• Maintain accurate records of service jobs, spare parts usage, and equipment history for operational transparency
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians to enhance team capability

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience servicing marine engine
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues efficiently
• Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service delivery
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
