Server UEFI Firmware Summer Intern
Position Overview
This internship provides hands‑on exposure to the Server UEFI Firmware domain and is designed for students with foundational technical knowledge who are keen to understand how firmware engineering teams operate in a professional environment. Interns will support the team on clearly scoped, guided tasks, gaining practical experience with systems, testing, and tools used in real‑world engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with basic system operations and simple firmware test procedures
- Collect, organise, and maintain platform logs, test results, and technical data
- Maintain and update internal documentation, records, and technical notes
- Support simple automation tasks, including modifying or executing Python‑based scripts under guidance
- Provide general day‑to‑day support, such as preparing materials, organising data, and assisting with routine team activities
Required Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of x86 architecture (CPU, memory, boot flow, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of UEFI/BIOS concepts or relevant academic coursework
- Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages
- Detail‑oriented, responsible, and able to follow structured technical procedures
- Available to work full‑time for the 2‑month summer internship period
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with basic automation scripting or tooling
- Basic knowledge of Linux command‑line usage
- Interest in AI‑assisted workflows or automation tools
- Coursework in Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, or Embedded Systems
