Description and Requirements
Role Overview
We are looking for a Server Test Strategy Leadwith a strong foundation in server hardware and/or firmware testing who is motivated to rethink how testing is done.
This role goes beyond traditional test execution. You will play a key part in shaping the future of testing by applying AI-driven approaches to improve efficiency, insight, and quality-while remaining deeply grounded in real-world test engineering challenges.
If you are someone who enjoys questioning existing processes, experimenting with new ideas, and turning concepts into practical improvements, this role is designed for you.
Key Responsibilities
Core Testing & Engineering Ownership
- Lead and contribute to server HW and/or FW test planning, test case design, execution, and analysis, ensuring enterprise-grade quality and reliability.
- Participate in ongoing system-level projects, working hands-on with hardware, firmware, and platform-level testing activities.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve issues and drive quality outcomes.
AI‑Driven Innovation & Transformation
- Identify opportunities to apply AI and data-driven approaches to testing activities such as defect analysis, test coverage optimization, efficiency improvement, and insight generation.
- Explore, prototype, and implement AI-enabled testing solutions that move beyond SOP-based execution.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, challenging conventional testing workflows and introducing smarter, more scalable methods.
Technical Leadership & Influence
- Act as a technical thought partner within the testing organization, helping shape new ways of working.
- Present ideas, proposals, and proof points to senior stakeholders and influence adoption of new approaches.
- Lead or participate in virtual, cross-functional initiatives related to testing innovation and AI adoption.
Knowledge Sharing & Enablement
- Author and maintain technical documentation, guidelines, and evolving SOPs for AI-enabled testing practices.
- Mentor and support team members in building testing depth and AI awareness.
- Contribute to global collaboration, sharing best practices and driving standardization across teams.
Required Qualifications (Core Fit)
These are the non-negotiable foundations for success in this role.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in server hardware and/or firmware testing.
- Strong understanding of system components such as UEFI, BMC, CPU, memory, networking, and storage.
- Proven ability to analyze problems critically, think beyond defined processes, and propose better solutions.
- Working knowledge or applied exposure to AI, automation, data analytics, or intelligent tools within engineering or testing contexts (depth can vary).
- Strong English communication skills for collaboration and stakeholder discussions (Chinese proficiency is an advantage).
Important: This role is not suitable for candidates with pure software-only testing backgrounds or those who prefer strictly SOP-driven execution.
Preferred / Value‑Adding Qualifications
These differentiate strong candidates but are not mandatory.
- Hands-on experience applying AI or automation to areas such as test optimization, defect prediction, or data analysis.
- Exposure to both hardware and firmware testing environments.
- Experience leading process improvement, transformation initiatives, or technical task forces.
- Background in project coordination, technical leadership, or mentoring, even without formal people management responsibility.
- Experience working in large-scale or globally distributed engineering environments.
Why This Role Is Different
- You are not hired just to run tests - you are hired to change how testing is done.
- You will have visibility and influence with senior technical leadership.
- The role values thinking, experimentation, and impact, not just years of experience or tools listed on a résumé.
- Compensation and level are assessed based on capability, mindset, and potential, not rigid profiles.
