Job Summary & Responsibilities
The Senior Systems Engineer will represent product line engineering in the field to support new tool joint evaluation programs and secure new product adoption. Significant interaction with the customer tool owners will be required, which in turn requires expertise in system operation, trouble shooting, and optimization. Additional contributions will include defining the technical characteristics of new metrology products, developing product concepts, requirements and system or subsystem models, as well as developing tools for performance estimates and validation. This position also requires close coordination with cross-functional teams, including field service, software, manufacturing, and applications.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will have strong technical capabilities as well as a pragmatic, results-oriented focus and possess a reputation for getting new products to the market on time and meeting requirements.
- Master or Ph.D. degree in optical engineering, physics, EE or other relevant disciplines.
- 3-5 years of experience in high precision optical or semiconductor capital instruments, or alternative experience.
- Ability to independently identify and troubleshoot issues which limit tool performance including both technical and logistical problems
- Ability to understand what limits system performance, and how to overcome those limits.
- Experience using Matlab and JMP is a plus.
- Knowledge in spectroscopy, ellipsometry and reflectometry is a plus.
- Ability to independently design and perform design of experiments related to optical instrumentation.
- Ability to travel internationally (up to 40%).
