Molex is seeking an experienced semiconductor OSAT and PCB/PCBA fields sourcing engineer. The candidate must quickly adapt to multinational corporations working style and a dynamic and changeable environment. In addition, this candidate must be able to work independently, with strategic thinking and focus on finding good suppliers, negotiating prices, and developing new materials.
Our Team
Our team: The backend operation team in Taiwan focuses on external suppliers and subcontractors production and sourcing tasks management. It must work closely with other operation teams at multiple-locations, such as: Zhu-Hai, China and Freemont, USA and must working closely with internal RD teams as well, such as: PIC devices design, PCB design, and PCBA engineering trial run.
What You Will Do
- The core of the job involves proactively developing, evaluating, and managing suppliers. This primarily includes finding new materials, requesting/comparing quotes from suppliers, negotiating prices, following up on sample orders, and controlling costs.
- Supplier Development and Management: Search for and screen potential domestic and international suppliers, establish supplier profiles, and regularly evaluate their performance.
- Requesting Quotes, Comparing Prices, and Negotiating Prices: Conduct RFQs for raw materials, compare supplier prices, quality, and delivery times, and develop strategic cost reduction plans
- Sample development follow-up: Act as a bridge between R&D and suppliers to ensure that samples are produced, verified, and meet specifications on schedule.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate the purchase terms and contract details to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery time.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze market trends and evaluate BOM costs.
- Familiar with the Taiwanese semiconductor OSAT sites and PCB houses
- Collaborate with internal users on new vendor evaluation, Eng. Samples build process and RFQ for raw materials and production processes.
- Working closely with PJM and RD teams to ensure the successful implementation of NPI and NPD.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience in semiconductor OSAT and PCB/PCBA fields sourcing tasks are preferred.
- Bachelor's degree above and 5+ years of sourcing experience
- Solid sourcing experience and ability to multi-task
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on all internal/external levels.
