Job Description

COMPANY INFORMATION

Stathera is a fabless semiconductor company focused on providing cutting-edge MEMS-based timing solutions. With offices in North America and Taiwan, our team is re-architecting the traditional quartz-based timing industry with the introduction of state-of-the-art DualMode™ frequency technology. This breakthrough innovation is redefining what is possible in timing applications and synchronization and has the potential to transform the entire $9.4 Billion electronics timing industry.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

Stathera is looking for a Sr. Staff Product Test Engineer (PTE) to join our team. This role will lead and approve the release-to-manufacturing of FT ATE (final test automated test equipment) solutions at OSATs (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test houses) for the mass production of semiconductor MEMS and ASIC products. This position plays a pivotal role in the testing phase of product development, from new product introduction (NPI) to high-volume manufacturing, providing technical leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

The Sr. Staff Product Test Engineer (PTE) will report directly to the Director of Operations - Asia and will be expected to work a total of 40 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Architect the Test Strategy: Define engineering requirements specification (ERS) including test coverage, test time, and cost targets.
  • Lead the OSAT Ecosystem: Own the bring-up and deployment of test solutions at OSATs. Manage relationships for test-related issues and enforce LAT (Lot Acceptance Testing) processes.
  • Drive Smart Manufacturing: Build infrastructure for parametric trends, yield paretos, and corner analysis using Galaxy, Python, JMP, or Matlab. Generate control charts and early warning systems to prevent escapes.
  • Production Ownership: Analyze production data to identify yield improvement opportunities. Validate test program changes and manage deployment. Own field quality metrics and customer RMA resolution (root-cause analysis, 8D reports).
  • Cross-functional Interface: Work closely with engineering to validate test programs against specs and translate production reality back to the design team based on data.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Experience: BS in Engineering or equivalent with 5-10+ years of experience in analog and digital final testing.
  • Platform Expertise: Deep familiarity with Chroma 3680, Teradyne ETS-88, or Advantest V93000. Ability to transfer solutions between platforms.
  • Technical Depth: Excellent understanding of measurement resources, mixed-signal circuits, and signal processing. Experience with ATE test limit definition, guard band, TTR, gauge R&R, and correlation.
  • Data Proficiency: Coding skills in Python, Matlab, or JMP for yield, product, and cost optimization. Familiarity with quality tools (8D, fishbone, 5 Whys, PPAP, PFMEA).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills. Ability to drive negotiations (acceptance criteria, yield definitions) and work across global time zones.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Experience with timing devices, MEMS, and 2-dies components (MEMS + ASIC).
  • Experience with timing/frequency/oscillator device testing.
  • Experience with wafer-level FT (CSP CoW) and temperature calibration (cold/room/hot).
  • Experience with multiple package types (ceramic, plastic, CSP).
