Core SQL Server Expertise
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server development and database administration support.
- Strong expertise in T-SQL programming and database design.
- Advanced knowledge of relational database concepts, normalization, and data modelling.
- Developing complex Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and Triggers from scratch.
- Writing highly optimized T-SQL code for large-scale enterprise applications.
- Expertise in temporary tables, table variables, CTEs, cursors, and windowing functions.
- Strong hands-on experience in ETL design, development, deployment, and support.
- Extensive experience using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Building complex SSIS packages for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Working with multiple data sources including SQL Server, Oracle, Flat Files, Excel, XML, and APIs.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
- Expert in SQL Performance Tuning and Query Optimization.
- Identifying and resolving blocking, deadlocks, and long-running queries.
- Execution Plan analysis and query optimization.
- Index analysis, creation, maintenance, and optimization including Partitioning strategies for large databases.
- Backup and Recovery strategy management.
- Database integrity checks and consistency validation.
- Index rebuild and reorganize strategies.
- Disaster Recovery and High Availability support.
Troubleshooting & Production Support
- Root cause analysis of database performance issues.
- Production incident management and resolution.
- Query tuning in mission-critical environments.
- Database monitoring and proactive issue identification.
- Release deployment and post-production validation.
- Requirement gathering and solution design.
- Technical mentoring and code reviews.
- Stakeholder communication.
- Documentation and knowledge transfer.
- Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Skills & Requirements
- Senior Microsoft SQL Server Developer with 10+ years of experience in database development, ETL solutions, performance tuning, and production support. Expertise in designing and developing complex stored procedures, SSIS packages, SQL Server Agent Jobs, and high-performance database solutions. Proven experience in query optimization, database maintenance, data warehousing, and troubleshooting mission-critical applications within enterprise environments.
- Strong SQL Server development experience
- Good knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, views and triggers
- Experience with query optimisation and performance tuning
- Strong understanding of database design, indexing and execution plans
- Experience working with large-volume databases
- Good understanding of SQL Server Always On / high-availability concepts
- Experience with ETL/data migration would be an advantage
- Ability to troubleshoot complex SQL and database-related issues
- Good understanding of database security and access management
- Experience working within an Agile development environment
