Molex is seeking a Senior Silicon Photonic Engineer to join our Optical Solutions Business Unit (OSBU). In this role, you will be part of a world-class engineering team developing next-generation Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs). You will design, implement, and validate photonic components and circuits, provide design support for both current and advanced photonic technologies, and collaborate with global cross-functional teams and supplier partners to deliver next-generation photonic solutions.

What You Will Do
- Perform detailed design optimization based on high-level design models and direction from project leaders.
- Build engineering prototypes and functional samples; execute validation, inspection, and performance testing.
- Document design details, principles, analysis, and version control in a clear and traceable manner.
- Design and optimize photonic building blocks to meet target specifications.
- Use design and simulation tools such as HFSS, FIMMWAVE/FIMMPROP, and Lumerical to analyze and optimize performance.
- Collaborate internally to evaluate building block performance and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Define test plans, methods, and conditions for building blocks; troubleshoot and debug issues as needed.
- Lead or participate in design reviews to align on requirements and finalize design parameters.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Master's degree in Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, Optics, Optoelectronics, or a related field.
- 2+ year of experience in the optical communications industry and/or relevant academic research projects.
- Hands-on experience designing and characterizing semiconductor lasers, electro-optical devices, and/or passive photonic devices.
- Experience in design and characterization of at least one type of photonic device
- Familiarity with at multi simulation tool for semiconductor devices, waveguide optics, RF integrity.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in reading and writing English.
What Will Put You Ahead
- PhD degree in Physics, Semiconductor Engineering, Optics, Optoelectronics, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in optoelectronic device design, photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design, and/or RF/DC characterization.
- Demonstrated ownership of full PIC development cycle, design, plan DOE, layout/Tapeout, validation.
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as HFSS, FIMMWAVE/FIMMPROP, and Lumerical.
- Familiarity with Si/CMOS process technologies and/or silicon photonic device fabrication flows.
- Proficiency in scripting for automated simulation and data analysis.
