Job Description

JOB DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Support New Product Development by reviewing product samples during development stages to identify potential worst-case customer usage conditions. Assess product performance under these conditions and collaborate with suppliers and the Quality Engineering Manager to define inspection tests or methods that ensure compliance with expected performance standards throughout development.
  2. Collaborate with the New Product Development team to create reliability test plans for new products and critical components, ensuring these tests are conducted by suppliers during development stages. Follow product specifications and work closely with suppliers and the Quality Engineering Manager to establish a comprehensive quality plan, including manufacturing process controls and sample inspection tests.
  3. Monitor and review suppliers progress on reliability testing for assigned samples, whether conducted by suppliers or external testing laboratories in Taiwan/China. Evaluate test results in-house or on-site as required. In the event of test failures, collaborate with the product development team to identify root causes and implement corrective action plans to ensure products meet performance standards.
  4. Support finding and coordinate third-party laboratories in Taiwan and China to perform reliability testing during product development stages.
  5. Coordinate market complaints related to shipped product quality and coordinate the return of defective goods. Support the technical support team, suppliers, and development team in analyzing defects and identifying root causes. Drive corrective actions to improve future product quality performance and ensure all follow-up actions are effective and properly documented.
  6. Support the product development team and suppliers to develop the process's quality validation methods during design verification and initial mass production builds as required.
  7. To work with the development team to monitor the process for non-conforming material or product handling, and problem resolution, including corrective and preventative action plans, and ensure the improvement plan and follow-up actions are effective and documented.
  8. Participate in other tasks assigned by the Quality Engineering manager.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, preferably electronic, mechanical or industrial engineering

Knowledge:

1. Plan and develop product hardware test plans, criteria, and test cases from a technical perspective based on the received specification.

2. Hardware product testing environment setup and maintenance

3. Review of Outsourcing / Supplier's /In-house test results and bug tracking.

4. Test process improvement and project-oriented.

5. Ability to present technical information and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization around.

6. Fluent written and verbal communication skills; Proficient in English and Chinese.

7. Strong ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships on a multi-level basis.

8. Work independently and under pressure with a sense of urgency.

Experience:

10+ years of professional quality control and assurance experience in the hardware testing field (EE, RF, or ME) or software testing.
