Senior Project Reliability Engineer works with all functions in the business, notably Engineering, Operations, Product Management and R&D (Chemistry Technology Development and Process Development), is responsible for:
- Project Reliability Strategy & Design:
- Lead the Facilitation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) sessions for new capital projects and existing high-criticality systems.
- Evaluate equipment design & layouts during the design phase for accessibility and maintainability and provide recommended design changes for identified improvements.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams in the identification of potential reliability concerns and design changes to improve all process reliability.
- Complete critical spare needs evaluations for new capital projects. Assist in quoting, procurement and tracking of critical spares
- Develop initial inspection, testing and maintenance plans, including frequencies and required tasks, for all assets in new capital projects.
- Compile critical asset data for new projects and format for entry in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Develop Process Capacity Mapping and initial project acceptance criteria for all new projects.
- Existing Operations Support
- Investigate and analyze plant equipment failures by collecting failure causes, process data and equipment information. Develop and recommend solutions in design, maintenance procedures or equipment selections.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis into critical equipment failures. Use data-driven methods to identify systemic issues, implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence and leverage the lessons learned to similar equipment globally.
- Asset Lifecycle Cost
- Develop approaches for projecting asset lifecycle costs beginning in the design stages through asset end of life.
- Use KPI (e.g. Equipment Availability (uptime), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR)), historical data and industry standards to drive decisions on equipment selection.
- Technical Mentorship:
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and maintenance technicians. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for equipment selection to ensure reliability. Support Plant Operations & Maintenance functions by providing technical guidance on equipment operation and maintenance procedures as priorities and opportunities allow.
- Global Support:
- Position will be required to provide remote support to all ALAM projects globally which will require leading and participating in technical discussions outside of normal business hours.
- Infrequent travel to international locations may be required.
