Job Description
We're Looking For Product Leaders With Strong Experience In
Core Product Expertise
The person will also own how sellers experience, understand, trust, and act on
ShopDeck's recommendations, making Seller Experience as important as the underlying AI decisioning system.
Success in this role will not be measured by the number of features or AI agents launched. It will be measured through outcomes such as seller profitability, adoption and engagement, conversion, retention, GMV/revenue impact, AI accuracy and reliability, and reduction in manual operational effort.
We're particularly interested in candidates with 4–6 years of overall experience on product management, especially those who have worked in e-commerce, marketplaces, consumer-tech, B2B SaaS, AI-native products, seller/merchant platforms, growth products, or decisioning/automation products.
Core Product Expertise
- End-to-end product ownership — from problem discovery and customer research to product strategy, build, launch, adoption, and measurable business impact
- Defining product vision, strategy, roadmap, prioritisation, and success metrics in ambiguous problem spaces
- Deep customer discovery with the ability to understand seller pain points, operational challenges, and unmet needs through conversations, behavioural data, and frontline team inputs
- Strong data-driven decision-making through funnel analysis, cohorts, experimentation, A/B testing, and product analytics
- Ownership of business and product metrics such as seller profitability, conversion, retention, adoption, revenue, GMV, engagement, and operational efficiency
- Experience building 0→1 products as well as improving and scaling existing product journeys
- Hands-on product experience building AI-native products, AI agents, LLM-powered experiences, decisioning systems, or intelligent workflows
- Ability to identify opportunities where AI can automate manual workflows, improve decision-making, and deliver better business outcomes
- Experience defining AI/agent behaviour, decision logic, prompts, inputs/outputs, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop workflows
- Designing and validating AI-powered experiences with a strong focus on accuracy, reliability, adoption, user trust, and measurable business impact
- Experience defining evaluation frameworks and quality metrics to determine whether AI recommendations or actions are working effectively
- Ability to determine where AI should act autonomously versus where human review or approval is required
- Running structured pilots, experiments, and evaluations before scaling AI capabilities across users or workflows
- Strong product understanding of AI systems — enough to work deeply with Engineering and Data teams and make informed product and technical trade-offs, without necessarily being an ML engineer
- Experience across e-commerce, marketplaces, consumer-tech, seller/merchant platforms, or B2B SaaS
- Strong exposure to seller/merchant journeys, SMB products, onboarding, dashboards, recommendations, operational workflows, and growth funnels
- Experience solving problems across areas such as pricing, products, merchandising, audience, creatives, marketing, conversion, and seller growth
- Ability to simplify complex data and business decisions into clear, actionable product experiences for sellers
- Strong understanding of customer journeys, funnels, A/B testing, cohorts, conversion, retention, and engagement
- Ability to connect product initiatives directly to tangible outcomes such as seller profitability, GMV/revenue growth, higher adoption, improved conversion, or reduction in manual operational effort
- Experience identifying workflows currently handled manually by Operations or Account Management teams and determining what can be productised or automated through AI
- Work closely with Founders, Engineering, Design, Data, Growth, Sales, Account Management, and Operations
- Operate effectively in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment where problems may not be clearly defined upfront
- Balance customer needs, business outcomes, data, and technical feasibility while making product prioritisation decisions
- Make informed product and technical trade-offs without compromising execution velocity or long-term scalability
- Influence cross-functional teams without relying on formal authority and drive alignment from problem definition through execution
- Be comfortable spending significant time with Engineering/Data teams on product builds and AI evaluations, sellers/users on discovery, and leadership teams on strategy and prioritisation
- Mentor Product Managers, APMs, or Product Analysts where applicable
