Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Product Development:
- Lead technical aspects of development projects, acting as the technical expert and driving development.
- Deliver fast, accurate, and effective solutions to meet technical objectives and project goals.
- Collaborate with suppliers technical teams to address project challenges with innovative ideas and approaches.
- Plan and oversee plant trials, including on-site troubleshooting as needed.
- Develop testing methods and procedures to evaluate product performance.
- Ensure project success by meeting deadlines and budget constraints through effective planning and task prioritization.
- Establish specification parameters for raw materials and finished products to ensure consistent performance.
- Foster strong relationships with outsourced suppliers to enhance product development efforts.
- Provide feedbacks to engineers, technical specialists, and laboratory technicians from outsourced suppliers within the scope of projects.
- Partner with internal teams, including Manufacturing, Sourcing, Purchasing, Quality, and Technical Services, to establish priorities for outsourced suppliers.
- Facilitate a smooth transition of products from development to commercialization.
Technical Support:
- Attend customer meetings, provide technical expertise, and deliver presentations to address customer inquiries.
- Travel to customer facilities as needed to troubleshoot technical issues and provide on-site support.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of product development experience in the plastics or adhesives industry.
- Knowledge of extrusion processes and adhesive technologies would be preferred.
- Proven project management experience with a track record of delivering successful outcomes.
- Experience in control management system and compliant handling.
- Skills:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to technical challenges.
- Bilingual proficiency in English (required).
