The impact you'll make

Responsible for payroll accounting, tax compliance, period-end close, and general accounting activities. Supports accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and effective coordination across Finance, HR, and external providers.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Support headcount and personnel cost forecasting.
  • Monitor headcount movement and labor cost trends.
  • Maintain workforce planning data with HR and Talent Acquisition teams.
  • Ensure data accuracy across finance and HR systems.
  • Support system testing and process changes affecting payroll and finance operations.
  • Maintain shared operating expense allocation settings as required.

Payroll and Equity Accounting

  • Review payroll calculations and prepare journal entries.
  • Manage accounting and tax treatment for compensation, allowances, and benefits.
  • Support ESPP accounting, deductions, and settlements.
  • Record labor insurance, health insurance, pension, and other employee-related accruals.
  • Complete supplemental health insurance filings and payment support.
  • Process payroll- and bonus-related payments.
  • Support offboarding-related financial settlements.
  • Provide employee-related data for reporting and statutory submissions.

Reconciliation, Withholding Tax, and Statutory Reporting

  • Perform receivable clearing and settlement accounting.
  • Clear tax- and customs-related entries and maintain support.
  • Prepare withholding tax support files and payment documentation.
  • Complete withholding tax reconciliations for applicable income categories.
  • Support annual income reporting and statutory filings.

Period-End Close and Financial Reporting

  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc accruals for assigned accounts.
  • Estimate and record payroll-related accruals.
  • Support interest accounting, foreign exchange clearing, and close activities.
  • Prepare flash reporting inputs and close deliverables.
  • Maintain account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Complete Blackline reconciliation and close tasks on time.

Payments, VAT, and Intercompany Activities

  • Prepare payment requests and related entries for assigned disbursements.
  • Process professional service fee payments and related accounting.
  • Prepare and review VAT filings.
  • Support VAT amendments, authority responses, and refund documentation.
  • Review intercompany payment reporting and follow-up items.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll accounting, general accounting, tax compliance, or finance operations.
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting, accruals, reconciliations, period-end close, and statutory reporting.
  • Experience with SAP, Workday, Blackline, or similar systems.
  • Strong Excel and data management skills.
  • Knowledge of Taiwan payroll, withholding tax, insurance, pension, and VAT requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with HR, Finance, and external partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big Four experience preferred.
  • Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with intercompany transactions and shared service models.
  • Experience with process improvement, testing, and standardization.
  • Proactive mindset with focus on continuous improvement.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
