Senior Officer, Media %26 Communications

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the roster duty for the 24-hour media enquiry hotline

• Maintain and enhance HKIA's corporate image by handling media enquiries, organising media events, and proactively pitching stories and interview opportunities to local and overseas media

• Plan and execute media and publicity campaigns to promote HKIA and its initiatives

• Prepare communication materials, including press releases, speeches, briefing notes and other written content as required

• Manage video production and other promotional projects from planning to delivery

• Develop and maintain relationships with local, Mainland, trade and international media

• Monitor and analyse media coverage across print, broadcast, online and social media platforms

• Support issue and crisis communications in a timely and professional manner

• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Language, Public Relations, or related disciplines

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience

• Experience in media organisations, government departments, statutory bodies or public sector is an advantage. Candidates with experience in PR agency are also welcome.

• Strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

• Proactive and able to work effectively under pressure

• Detail-oriented with sound news judgement and a good understanding of the media landscape, including social media trends and industry developments

• Good command of both written and spoken English & Chinese (i.e. Cantonese & Putonghua)

• Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
