Position Overview

  • Job Title: Senior Officer, Rewards (Payroll)

Role Summary

The Senior Officer, Rewards and Payroll is responsible for the end-to-end execution of global or regional payroll operations, alongside the administration of core compensation and benefits programs. This hands-on role ensures accurate, timely payroll processing while supporting competitive, equitable, and compliant total rewards strategies. Operating at both the operational and analytical levels, you will manage day-to-day payroll cycles, participate in annual compensation reviews, and maintain seamless integration between reward structures and payroll execution.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Operations & Administration

  • Manage end-to-end monthly or bi-weekly payroll processing for local and/or regional employee populations, ensuring absolute accuracy and timeliness.

  • Handle complex payroll inputs, including variable pay, commissions, bonuses, overtime, allowances, retroactive adjustments, and final settlements for departing employees.

  • Reconcile payroll registers, tax filings, social insurance contributions, and benefit deductions against general ledger accounts, partnering closely with the Finance and Accounting teams.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal payroll inquiries, resolving employee and manager discrepancies promptly and professionally.

Compensation & Benefits Integration

  • Support the administration of annual salary reviews, bonus allocations, and total rewards statements, ensuring changes are accurately reflected in the payroll system.

  • Participate in market benchmarking and salary surveys to help maintain competitive compensation structures and pay bands.

  • Coordinate day-to-day administration of group health, insurance, retirement, and wellness plans, ensuring accurate payroll deduction linkages.

Compliance, Auditing & Governance

  • Ensure all payroll and reward operations strictly comply with local labor laws, tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and internal audit controls.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of payroll processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal controls to support internal and external audits.

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes impacting taxation, minimum wage, social security, and employment standards across relevant jurisdictions.

Qualifications & Competencies

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 2-5 years of progressive experience combining multi-country or multi-state payroll operations with compensation and benefits administration.

  • Professional payroll or HR certifications

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise operating major payroll platforms and HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP SuccessFactors, or equivalent).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data modeling for payroll reconciliations and cost projections).

  • Solid understanding of statutory compliance, wage-and-hour laws, tax withholdings, and end-of-year tax reporting processes.
