Major Duties:
(a)
To develop, oversee and implement a comprehensive system that effectively promotes and manages the reporting of occupational health and safety matters
(b)
To be the administrator of the recording system for all reported occurrence
(c)
To establish the risk assessment methodology including defining risk and severity ratings and criteria for systematic analysis of reported occupational health and safety matters
(d)
To conduct and advise on risk assessments based on the nature and level of risk associated with identified occupational hazards
(e)
To recommend and execute mitigation strategies aimed at preventing the recurrences of incidents and accidents
(f)
To analyse records of reported occupational health and safety matters, and prepare reports and presentations for management review and sharing with stakeholders and
(g)
To evaluate the effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancing the reporting system, promoting best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health and safety reporting.
Requirements:
(a)
A recognised degree in Engineering, Science or Occupational Health & Safety related disciplines or equivalent
(b)
Corporate membership of a relevant professional institution in the field of occupational health & safety, industrial hygiene or equivalent
(c)
At least 7 years relevant post-qualification experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in educational institutions or major organisations
(d)
Preferably hold a qualification of Registered Safety Officer / Safety Auditor under the Labour Department or equivalent
(e)
Sound management capability and ability to work independently
(f)
Good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills at all levels and
(g)
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese.

The post is at the rank of Manager.

The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or in different work locations.
