Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Operationalizes the Nursing Home's goals and objectives provides leadership and oversight in the planning, development, coordination and evaluation of nursing services.

  • Responsible for the compliance of all nursing standards of the cluster of nursing homes as stipulated by the Ministry of Health and the Singapore Nursing Board.

  • Assists the DON in identifying new programs for the residents and special projects to meet any service gaps.

  • Ensures appropriate skills mix and adequate manpower resourcing for all shifts and types of services.

  • Ensures cost-effective service and optimal outcomes are maintained and/or enhanced.

  • Promotes evidence-based practices or nursing care delivery.

  • Monitors and analyses trends and changing needs of residents in institutional settings.

  • Ensures written job descriptions of all categories of healthcare staff are endorsed by management and readily accessible.

  • Directs and facilitates staff development, skills and competency upgrading through various opportunities and pathways. These may include formal education, in-house training and approved online learning programs.

  • Oversees Training Department in developing and training of healthcare staff to meet the needs of the clients.

  • Ensures written policies and procedures and work process are available and up to date to guide nursing care delivery.

  • Undertakes any other responsibilities as directed by the Supervisor/Management of the Company.

Qualification

  • Degree in Management Studies or equivalent.

  • Post Graduate Nursing Specialty Certificate.

  • State Registered Nurse and valid practicing licensed issued by the Singapore Nursing Board.

  • Valid certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

Experience

  • At least 5 years of management experience, with demonstration of leadership ability in a health care organization.
