  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality, quality engineering, or process quality control on electronics or optoelectronics manufacturing lines.
  • Experience implementing IPQC/Outgoing Quality Control (OQC) inspection standards, Statistical Process Control (SPC), control plans, and PFMEAs in cleanroom/factory environments.
  • Experience managing factory excursion responses, Material Review Board (MRB) material disposition, and 8D/Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations on the shop floor.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Manufacturing Systems, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 8 years of manufacturing quality management experience in NPI and high volume opto-mechanical system, display modules, or camera modules products.
  • Deep expertise in inline quality control methodologies like automated optical inspection (AOI), particle/cleanroom contamination control (Class 100/1000), optical metrology, and functional test stations.
  • Demonstrated successful collaboration with CM/partners/suppliers/vendors and leading factory yield improvement, line qualifications, and line copy/transfers across contract manufacturers.

About The Job

As a Senior Manufacturing Quality Engineer based in Taiwan, you will be the on-the-ground manufacturing process quality owner for opto-mechanical modules like Light Engine Assembly (LEA) and Display System Assembly (DSA). You will drive real-time In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), statistical process monitoring, yield protection, and Outgoing Quality Assurance (OQA) at manufacturing partner facilities. You will collaborate with factory operations, test engineering, and supplier development teams to enforce stringent guardbanding, lead fast-response factory excursion containment, qualify production lines, and ensure high quality shipment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive partners/suppliers for factory Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), outgoing quality assurance, process corner validation, and line quality governance for high-precision opto-mechanical module assembly lines. Will include frequent travel to manufacturing partner sites in Asia.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability (Cp/Cpk), gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R), and test guardbanding/limits governance.
  • Lead and communicate immediate containment, triage, and Root Cause/Corrective Actions (RCCA) for factory manufacturing excursions, line stops, and abnormal yield drops.
  • Drive golden line qualifications, copy-line validations, and factory rework process qualifications for NPI and mass production.
  • Partner with Design, Supplier Development Engineering (SDE), Test Engineering and Operations to ensure complete test coverage, data traceability via MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems). Contribute to the Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), process design and build readiness reviews.
